Life update and autumn styling

So the summer might of been quiet, but at least the weather was good, right? After some time to reflect, I’m looking forward to heading into October on the front foot.

Hello everyone, I hope you do not mind the short ramble about to unfold. I feel like since I started doing my newsletter, I have not continued to keep readers of the blog up to date with general day-to-day life stuff.

The season just gone was quiet for me. Work was limited and motivation was admittedly quite low, but thankfully things are beginning to pick up and I’m looking forward to sharing a couple projects I have lined up. Along with the elongated period of stagnation in my work, the summer also appeared to stretch itself out right into October. Only now do I feel we’re stepping into autumn, with my last fix of warm weather being in Prague last weekend. Getting off the plane as we landed back home and feeling chilly was definitely the sign that summer is over.

It appears that I have managed to find one of the most Autumnal (eyeroll) corners of London for these two photos. The weather stayed dry thankfully and it is some of my favourite weather to dress for. It allows me to layer again and try something different. I just enjoy how the contrasting lengths of the cardigan and jacket come together, coupled with leaving the denim jacket open at the bottom to allow the trousers to be shown off more.

I do not think I’d of been wearing a pant so wide and baggy this time last year, but brands like Studio Nicholson have added a new dimension to how I think about shape in my fits and also following people such as Sangiev and Yuthanan on Instagram keep me on my toes.

A couple more bits of life things that I wanted to mention while I have you… if you enjoy hearing about my day-to-day movements then my newsletter goes out every other week and you can sign up here. Also rather excitingly I’ve started writing for the Evening Standard online and my first piece is now up for you to read. It’s a guide to seven of the best menswear stores in London. Enjoy!

Though work for the next couple of weeks is looking busy and I’ve been able to pick up another writing gig, I’m toying with the idea of a second job. I like keeping busy and having structure so I’m about to write a cover letter and CV for the first time in a long time once I hit publish on this blog post. Please send all the good vibes this way and thank you for sticking around.jbicon
