Summer holidays are over

So it goes January, February, March, September? While I may of missed my chance to comment on short shorts, loud summer shirts and rejoice in Birkenstocks, it’s not been a time to talk menswear. Here’s where I’m at with everything.

Five years in

With it turning September, it marks five years of blogging for me. I’ve looked back on what has changed since I started back in 2014 and how I am looking to move forward. And no, my family still don’t quite understand what I do for a job.

Blog hiatus

It looks like March did not really happen on here. While I want to say sorry for the lack of blog posts on here, sometimes you cannot force it. I’ve shared a few thoughts as to why I think this might be.

Two weeks in

It might not be common, but for me I have allowed myself to take things as slow as possible. I’ve been thinking a lot about what I want to work on and being able to feel comfortable with the notion that everyone is on a different career path where no two are the same.

Online to offline friendships

Community is something I've spoken about before, but I feel it's so important to recognise online friendships and make the most out of them. So, along with Mat who you all know by now, I went to visit Magnus and India of Haarkon in Sheffield.

Self-restraint

My blog is a place of sharing, but sometimes this has been put on hold one too many times because everything wasn't quite perfect. I find blogging is a fine balance of planning and spontaneity, but recently I've just put the stoppers on creativity.

Grooming for guys

There's very few guys that can talk about grooming with confidence (spoiler: I'm not one of them). I'm wanting to learn more about what we can use for our hair and skin and that starts now.

Coffee table reads

First off, here’s a little bit of disclosure… I don’t even own a coffee table. But I feel ‘coffee table books’ sums up what type of book it is. Still with me? You know, the ones that look great in your room, undeniably pretentious and remain reserved for days where you have that spare hour away from your phone.

My Stuff #6

Days at home don’t have to be mundane. There are a number of little things we can enjoy from the comfort of our own space. As a work from home guy I’m inside an awful lot, so I’ve got a few things to help me tick over while I’m working or when having some down time in the evenings.

What success means to me

Is it possible that perhaps as a community we've lost our way a little? Algorithm tips, reminding people to turn on post notifications and guides to getting a bigger following all sounds like a rat race to me. It's time for a different perspective.

Dear Jordan

I’m writing this in between the Christmas and New Year lull. Nobody seems to know what to do other than eat, drink and sleep. I found it fitting to have a couple loungewear hours with a tea nearby to reflect on what a great year it’s been.
