Exploring Leeds with Whistles

Exploring Leeds with Whistles

I’m a big advocate of travel within England, but other than a family wedding, Leeds has escaped me.

That’s until both Mat and myself said to Whistles, ‘Hey, fancy letting us show off your new collection? Oh and can we do a Christmas giveaway as well?’

07.52am Heading up North. Off to see Mat from Buckets&Spades again.

And just like that, I found myself on an early morning train to Leeds wrapped up in some Whistles Men gear. I like heading outside with three of four layers on, a coffee on the go and being on the move. It’s around now where we all contemplate the fact we should probably already

own some good outerwear that we can rely on.

For a typically chilly day in Leeds I went for a navy overcoat. For me, I champion the overcoat and when wearing a chunky roll neck underneath and some wool trousers, I was ready. If I needed an extra layer, the colour block scarf came in handy. Our first stop was Village. You know I’m a sucker for a print read and this meant picking up the new issue of Lagom. It's turning out to be one of my favourite reads yet.

Then we headed to the new Victoria Gate for a quick browse before having a mandatory coffee pit stop at Tall Boys. If it was later in the day, we probably would have went for beer.downicon

With it being my first time in the city, Mat was playing tour guide. Our next stop was the Corn Exchange to check out a couple of the independents, one of them being MKI. A quick circle round and we headed out of the city slightly and towards Northern Monk. Mat’s a big beer fan and with the Leeds whistle-stop tour done, we had a few beers while we watched the afternoon draw in.

So this brings us to the giveaway! With whistles currently in the festive swing of things with their advent calendar, we wanted to do a competition ourselves. We’ve got two prizes... a coat from Mat over on Buckets&Spades and a knitwear piece of your choice on mine.

To enter my competition, head over to Instagram, like this photo and tag two friends in the comments section. You must be following Mat, @whistlesmen and myself. That’s it! I’ll be announcing my winner on the 18th December.

You can enter both giveaways, so go and read Mat’s write-up of our trip. Good luck guys!jbicon
